FULL NAME: Dave A. Cruxis, Daymian Apollo Cruxis
NICKNAMES: Lord Cruxis
SEX: Male
AGE: 354
AGE RESEMBLENCE: 22
RACE: Wolf Demon
OCCUPATION: Second in Command of Hell, Vigilante of New Haven, Lead Guitarist of Hellion metal band Tilting the Hourglass
GUILD: None...yet
APPEARANCE:
HUMAN FORM:
Dave happens to look exactly like his father, Zeron, but slightly shorter and not as built, and not as many noticeable markings. He has long navy hair that reaches down to mid-back, with bangs in the front covering pretty much the upper half of his face, his slightly slanted gold wolf eyes, with red around the edges…well, the bangs used to hang that way until Dave parted them literally in half so he’d look more presentable to the council. There are also two gold slash markings horizontally down his left cheek, just under his left eye. He has a lot of muscle for someone his height and age, and it’s more on the tone side with him than the beefed up side. The muscle is obvious due to him consistently working out and training. His casual outfit and tastes in dress have, for the most part, remained the same over the years. Preferring these days to wear a long sleeve, dark blue button-down and a black leather zip-up vest with the Cruxis family insignia stamped on the back, it remains only half tucked in a pair of blue jeans, supported by a deep brown leather belt. If that wasn't enough leather, Dave even wears a pair of worn black leather, steel tip work boots. However, in his noble getup, he wears a dark blue, loose fitting sleeveless tunic, black leather pants, his black boots, dark blue fingerless leather gloves, and a gold cape with a navy blue embroidery on the edges. He’ll usually carry around his katana sheath and his zanbatou sheath with this outfit. Since Dave doesn’t exactly prefer this outfit, you’ll usually see him wearing his casual clothing.
WOLF FORM:
In his wolf form, Dave is a pure black wolf, with the exception of a few blue markings starting to show after extensive training to unleash his full potential. He also now has a blue X shaped mark on his forehead, one blue mark that looks like a scratch under his left eye, and two blue stripe marks on either side of his body streaking down and fading away at the back. He retains the pure gold eyes he has in this form.
DEMON FORM:
A wolf standing upright on two legs, with the same markings as in his wolf form. Dave retains his built appearance of his human form, and in this form, his gold eyes are also edged with red. He’s actually taller in this form, around 7 feet or more, practically towering over everyone, or mostly everyone. Unlike his father Zeron, however, Dave does not have a fearsome “I’m going to kill you because it’s Tuesday” appearance.
HEIGHT: 6'2"
WEIGHT: 220lbs
ITEMS:
Wedding Band: On his left ring finger is the wedding band that symbolizes his and Tamarah Cruxis' marriage. He's not once removed it since the day of their marriage--same finger for thirty years.
Cruxis Family Insignia: Since the day Luna Lefay assaulted Dave's family all those centuries ago, his mother passed on to him the necklace his father gave to her while she was pregnant with Dave. It is the snarling wolf head of what is perceived to be Fenris on a gold chain, and since has been an accessory Dave has worn at all times (save for his service in the US Army during the 1960's). In the wolf's mouth is an older wedding bang that he never removed, and whether it stayed due to his forgetfulness or as a reminder that he had his own family at one point is up for debate. He usually leaves it tucked under his shirt.
Watch: A multipurpose watch that he special ordered through some close connections in RNA, it can do much more than tell time! The watch can detect aura within a half mile radius (although Dave himself can sense more powerful auras at a much greater distance), hack computers, and even change his sex at will. Even though he wears it on his wrist almost all the time, Dave rarely finds himself having to use its many other features.
WEAPONS:
NOTE: Dave made a mark on all three weapons that allow him to summon them to his side if he ever needed them, given he gets into a combat situation on the surface streets of New Haven, or anywhere else in Leonas for that matter.
Grandmother Aislinn’s Katana: A katana Dave was given by his mother, Naomi, who got it from her mother who was simply known as Lady Aislinn. The katana looks like it’s nothing special, and Dave has yet to figure out what potential it holds. The blade is very rusty and looks like it can’t even hold its own in a battle, and with how badly rusted over it is, it seems the simplest touch can snap the blade in half. There is a secret potential hidden in the blade, and legend has it the Aislinn’s katana can manipulate the very ground itself. Even Naomi and her mother couldn’t unlock the potential, but Dave so far was ale to unlock some of the ability hidden away in the sword after months of hard training. He still has a long ways to go. Ever since he infused that green gem with the katana in his first fight against Tam, it seems the effects have stayed with the sword.
Cruxis Fang: A zanbatou, which is a large, ten foot sword, forged by a boar demon by the order of Itachi Kumaria specifically for Dave as a noble’s weapon, and his weapon of preference. Dave is able to sync this weapon with his fire element, lighting it on fire, shooting fire from it, making fire Master Chiefs, whatever he wants to do with it. The way it is forged, the hilt is made from a very strong dragon bone, painted in navy blue and gold, and the guard is built out of the bottom jaw of the same dragon. The blade itself is extremely hard metals the boar demon mixed together and made the blade the hardest and most durable it could be. The Cruxis Fang is strong enough to withhold damage from the most powerful of any types of attacks, and it deserves its name just ‘cuz Dave’s good that way.
Genkakuken (Translated: Illusionblade): This golden adamant katana channels and empowers electrical attacks. The runes in the blade give it the power of illusion, making it nearly impossible to visibly see the moves of the user. It also has the power to produce doppelgangers of the wielder or the sword, making it even harder to see the moves. The electrical abilities give it the ability to shoot waves of electricity or create sonic booms, control and create lightning, or just plain giving that spazzing shocks on contact with flesh.
Celtic Bastard Sword: A custom forged bastard sword made by his oldest sister Edith, the blade itself is around 3 feet long, with an extra foot of hilt supporting it. Engraved at the center of the handguard is the Cruxis family insignia. The handguard itself juts out on either side of the blade in ancient Celtic patterns and is a faded copper. Each side ends in small rounded points, and the minotaur hide-wrapped hilt is long enough for a two-handed grip although it is light enough to be used with one hand.
Whirligig Saw: This neat little weapon here is one of Dave's pride and joys made by his own hand. By tearing apart a weed wacker to its simple pole and motor look, he retrofitted all the mechanisms inside so that they may spin parallel to the pole rather than perpendicular. With that out of the way, he fitted two large buzzsaws on either side of each other at the end of the rod, one spinning clockwise, the other spinning counterclockwise. Each is about 20 inches in diameter, large enough to be able to slice through even demon form limbs with ease. The whirligig saw is a powered machine, so it needs a power source to be able to run. Instead of petrol, a flammable substance which prevents it from being used literally anywhere, it is powered instead by the sheer energy of the person holding it. This in mind, Dave had indented a small blue gem in the engine with his own custom marking on it that reacts only with his energy. Anyone else who would try using it will only have a dead saw. Here's the cool part. The trigger that makes the weed wacker's head spin maintains its use so that the blades will spin when squeezed. Yeah, he's really proud of this one. It has yet to see use, so...
ELEMENTS:
-Fire
-Darkness
-Earth
-Ice
-Lightning
TECHNIQUES:
All techniques, save for Hammerspace, can be used in both human and demon forms, with some usable in all of his forms.
Hammerspace: Only usable in his human form. In his left pocket is a concentrated dimensional pocket he keeps forgetting he has on his person. Dave can store literally anything in this, which should render his marks on his weapon moot. But again, he forgets he has it. Good for carrying multiple paraphernalia on his person, he can also carry what seems to be a limitless supply of explosives, vials of corrosive Convexity, among other items. Cannot be used in PVP or Tournaments.
Skull Bash: A signature move in the Cruxis lineage, made infamous by The Walking Genocide, and then famous by Karma Incarnate himself, Dave's solid as stone skull is known to split even Generals' heads open like a watermelon. He can take down walls, dent street poles, and even stop freight trains with it (although the last bit is not recommended!). Further evidenced by his service in wars like the Revolution, Civil and Vietnam is the legend that large, dense projectiles like cannonballs and mortar rounds simply bounce off his head with nary a scratch to his person. If you want to damage his head, then good luck; even mortal enemies are unable to score a stun shot on him this way!
Blade of Fire: By concentrating his aura into the zanbatou, Dave can engulf the entire blade in a bright orange flame. The blade is sharp enough as it is, and with searing hot fire going through the metal, blood will burn.
Fire Ring: A ring of white flame surrounds the opponent, and with a command clench of his fist, Dave can make it close in fast on the target. Wind will only strengthen it, making it spread.
Genkakouken Flash: With this sword, he can create many lightning-quick sword swings that, if powerful enough, will disarm the foe of even the most durable weapon he's armed with! Building off from this trait, he can also make a second illusion of his blade, though it is not as authentic looking as the real blade, it can be used as a “second” blade, more of a decoy to throw the opponent off.
Crushing Wolf: The Aislinn katana passed down to Dave has never seen much use aside from being linked with the element of earth, the only way ice users such as the Aislinn lineage can use elements other than ice aura. By slamming the blade end into the ground, Dave can create a large shockwave of huge rocks that come out of the ground at rapid speeds. A major improvement from the earthquake Dave used to perform when he was a young punk of a wolf demon, he can make a huge earthquake by further tapping into the blade. During this earthquake, the ground can even collapse into itself, and large pillars of stone can rise up. This is very useful in manipulating the landscape and changing the tides of battle.
Rock Wave: Another build-off from using the Aislinn katana, with one stroke of the blade into the ground, Dave can create a straightforward line of large stones that shoot straight up at the opponent. The line travels and manipulates in the earth for a good 20 to 30 feet, depending on how powerful the slash was.
Fire Breath: Breathes fire at opponent. White jet, burning. Needs Tic Tac. If it makes contact, the fire can cause third-degree burns, and if Dave wants to, he can make the flames hotter in his demon form, upping the ante to fourth degree.
Fire Blast: Blasts a large heated ball of concentrated fire at his opponent from both his hands. The results can be deadly, explosive and will cause third-degree burns if it manages to score a hit.
Foundry Crater: Not so much a pool as it is a gigantic crater that spews tons of hot rock and large strings of lava. Dave can summon one right underneath the opponent, caving in the ground enough to make it able to be stood on, but collapsing it enough to summon fires from the depths of the earth. It can be lethal if the opponent stupidly stands there and takes every possible shot, but it can also leave some serious burns. Yes, an upgrade from just collapsing the ground into a fiery pit of molten lava, so that Dave can make a fight last longer.
--Lava Fountain: A build-off of this technique, Dave can even summon full-blown jets of lava from underneath his opponent, burning them to a crisp or outright destroying their existence.
Curse: By coating his fangs in a special poison finally fully developed in his body, Dave can inject this poison into the opponent’s system. The poison is potent, as it can liquefy a person’s organs from the inside out. Literally, if not treated within the next 24-48 hours, the person will bleed internally, throw up blood and evacuate blood, to put that last part nicely. A good weakening to the opponent, and great at slowing them down.
Poison Breath: A flammable poisonous gas emitted from his throat, Dave can cause the opponent who breathes in this gas to choke profusely. Not as potent as the Curse bite, but it does cause much inflammation in the lungs and windpipe. Which could make the opponent choke to the point of losing concentration on the fight. Side effects include coughing up blood, and lungs burning like a sharp white hot fire.
Shield: He can solidify his aura and use it as a shield, also as a full body attack by ramming into the opponent, or hurling it away at the enemy as a projectile. It is pretty much like a bubble! Yay! Bubble!
Full Aura Burn: Dave has figured out an alternate way to use this sort of technique without “killing” his opponent. Instead of using his commanding fist to set off the aura and explode his victim, he instead will clench his fist and watch as the aura he spared from his reserves will work its magic at the opponent’s aura, changing it completely to its polar opposite and rendering aura-based moved useless from the opponent. Generally a way to severely handicap his opponent, but it doesn’t necessarily work depending on a person’s aura type. For example, if he sets off the Aura inside a person, and their aura is Holy, they will become Demonic in aura. However, if they have both demonic and Holy aura, there is no set polar opposite, and instead the little sphere will cancel out. Dave thinks very carefully before using this move. This was originally taught to him by Itachi as a way to finish the opponent in one shot, but Dave found it…dishonorable in battle, hence the alteration.
Rock Wall: Summoning a large wall of stone in front of him, Dave can block any oncoming direct hit straight towards him. It will stay up, and be used as other various things as a battle progresses.
Stone Prison: A way to keep an opponent in check is to sometimes isolate them on the battlefield. Dave utilizes this by getting in close to the opponent and summoning up a large, imperfect rectangle of a stone prison, keeping the opponent locked in the dark and cut off from an external oxygen supply ie the OUTSIDE WORLD. The prison can be broken, however, as the stone used is mostly dirt on the inside and a thin layer of rock on the outside. But by trapping them inside, they’re basically at the whim of Dave’s other one-target attacks, including Burning Pool!
Dark Blast: A wave of dark, shimmering energy is formed in one or both of Dave’s hands. Upon charging, it can either be a quick shot to stun the opponent and to throw them off, or a long charge, which takes about 20 seconds to fully utilize. The more fully charged the attack, the more powerful it is, and at fully charged, Dave can possibly blind the opponent temporarily. Darkness, as well as bright light, can blind anyone if used properly.
Dark Orb: Simple as that, a shimmering ball of dark energy. He can manipulate its size depending on how much aura he pumps into it. Sometimes, it is a good way to rejuvenate or recover his aura, by materializing it and reabsorbing it.
Dark Wave: Dave uses this when he has to blow the enemy away and send them flying away from him. It can take a lot out of him sometimes, which can mean this is can also be a finisher. What happens is, after some concentration, or uses of whatever aura he has in his reserves, Dave sends out a violently shaking wave of dark energy, powerful enough to blow anyone away, and can result in a very painful damage to their aura or physical being or both.
--Finisher Wave- Dark Explosion: This is the finisher version of the Dark Wave. More is explained under “Aura Choke Punch.”
Death Puppet: You’d think with a marriage to a necromancer and how close minded Dave may seem, he wouldn’t ask for lessons in necromancy, right? Think again! Tammy taught Dave the beginnings of necromancing, from reviving the dead to do his bidding to predicting the future. This special tactic, Dave can feel or sense for anything dead in the ground--and trust me, there is ALWAYS something dead in the ground—and bring up the corpse by charging his aura straight at the corpse. To balance it out for the sake of RP’ing, though, he can bring back corpses from only 25 feet underground, and up to three at one time if he’s lucky enough. The corpses will do his bidding, and it will be like fighting a small team of three Scouts and one Captain. They can last for as long as he wills them to, or until the opponent knocks out the skull of whatever skeleton is at Dave’s mercy. They are connected to him by his aura.
Spirit Bind: Another technique Tam showed him, the science is pretty simple. If one can manipulate the aura surrounding a person for that split moment, one can prevent the opponent from moving at least one attack, causing the person to trip up, miss entirely or screw up their aim to someplace else. Dave does this with only one extension of the hand.
Aura Choke Punch (Bite, in wolf form): While engaged in close quarters combat, if Dave makes contact with the enemy for long enough, he can drain the opponent of their aura. Now, from his understanding of aura, everybody has it, even humans. He’ll drain the person of their aura and add that to his own supply, building it up for other attacks.
--Finisher Wave: Dark Explosion: After draining enough aura from an opponent, Dave can unleash it in a powerful explosion of dark energy, destroying or breaking everything around him. The result also includes a badly damaged foe. The wave goes out for about 500 feet in radius (resulting in a 1000-foot diameter, for those who can do math properly), and can damage anything within that vicinity. Though, this does take a lot out of Dave, and does not allow him to change to his demon or wolf forms. Physically and spiritually draining, Dave tends to want to link this with the Aura Choke Punch when he really needs it or is really confident he can win.
The Clone Wars: A shadow clone technique, Dave can create up to three other shadow clones of himself. They are all meant for the trickery of an opponent, and they also help him damage an opponent in a fight. They are not completely physical, though, and only last for a short while, and can easily be killed. They do not need to be connected to Dave’s aura directly to be alive.
Flash Desummon: The manipulation of the main desummoning skill can allow Dave to flash desummon a few feet around an opponent, almost like an instant transportation, if you will. He can do a few of these in short bursts at a time, but doing so will result in exhausting his aura. Dave only really needs to use this when he knows there's a huge attack coming, or if he just needs to get a quick opening in on his opponent during battle.
Frigid Fist: Coating his fists in the newly unlocked ice aura he learned from training with his mother, Dave can lay the freezing smackdown on his opponent. The frost is as cold as Antarctic temperatures, and contact with the punches can cause severe frostbite on skin and chill blood.
Frost Wolf: Utilized with any non-elemental sword he has equipped, Dave couples this ability with his Flash Desummon technique to cut through an opponent in the blink of an eye with a band of frosty air and a freezing cold blade.
Crushing Frost: Placing a hand on the ground and sending forth a powerful surge of aura, Dave can cause a "shockwave" of ice to expand from where he is standing in a 200-foot radius.
Palpatine's Fury: Dave named this himself, don't look at me! Drawing from the lightning aura he harnessed over the years from Genkakuken, Dave blasts powerful bolts of lightning from his fingertips. The longer he shoots the stream on for, however, the weaker they become over time. Going on for even longer can render him drained in aura, as utilizing any lightning can leave him drained for several minutes.
Do It!: Yeah...he really enjoyed making fun of Palpatine with Aruka, didn't he? Calling down a large bolt of lightning from the sky, Dave can make it land on top of or in the vicinity of his opponent. A direct strike may cause serious injury or even death. But a strike within close proximity of the opponent can cause minor burns, knock them back several feet from the sheer force of impact, or even stun them for several seconds.
Fighter's Rage: It's hard to piss Dave off. It's even harder to push him to intentionally piss him off. Even calling him out of name as "David" or his official birthname "Daymian" doesn't do much for him, just makes him slap you around a little harder than you deserve ("The hell kind of demon would ever be named David?", "Don't compare me to him."). Assault his family? His friends? Kill someone close to him? Continually block attacks with something you'd deem unbreakable? His stubbornness and loyalty to his cause takes over, and amplifies his already tremendous strength a thousand-fold, giving him the strength he needs to break through even the toughest and most durable materials with ease. In demon form, that strength is amplified by ten-thousand. However, coming down from the Fighter's Rage seriously depletes his strength and speed in a fight, putting him at a serious disadvantage. The rage lasts for five to ten minutes in battle, and only lengthens in time and amps up in strength with each major offense done to him. Yup. Hard to piss him off, but when you do, Hell isn't all you have to pay.
Improv: If all other possibilities are exhausted, Dave tends to be a resourceful man when everything seems tight. Using the environment or his enemies' techniques to his advantage, Dave can improvise his way to a victory with quick wit and sharp cunning. Sometimes, the best strategy is made up as you go along!
