Back in the day, the South Island Resort used to consist of four uncharted islands, each one on the threshold of being viciously overtaken by ANGEL or VS Pharmaceutical at any moment. One island, Northport, was home to trade villages which held close fiscal relations with New Haven and the Striper Isles to the east. It was this island that the sick and twisted Administrator J set forth a vile plan to turn the island into an above-sea experimenting ground. People were brutally murdered, the villages were set ablaze, and forests roared up in flames as it killed most wildlife and villagers, creating a leveled land mass on which ANGEL could establish its secondary base of ops. That plan, however, was reversed as two demon kings, Dave Cruxis and Itachi Kumaria, came and killed all ANGEL personnel that settled with the intent of following through on their not so top secret plans. Northport was cleared of all enemy occupation and Itachi pulled off a Herculean feat--he airlifted the landmass and hurled it into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, erasing any marks ANGEL had attempted to leave on one of the four major islands. The result was a catastrophic tidal wave that affected the Coastline for weeks on end. Thankfully, this didn't do much damage to business as the feat was pulled off in an early winter.
Another island, Southport, was cleared out a year later by Cruxis and a whole lot of new allies employed by the Archives'. Together with Librarian Myr'rym Dryco, the two--with their squad, as if the numbers were truly needed--eliminated cyber-pirate occupancy. The island was later purchased by Cruxis and reworked by Archives' construction into a full-fledged vacation resort for the people of New Haven. Eastport and Westport soon became part of the purchase as well, and became habitable islands for anyone willing to live out in the middle of the ocean. Of course, dirty work did have to be done in order to clear out bandits and rogues who occupied the woods.
For the most part, now, Haven Resort is a beautiful island getaway for six months of the year, while the other six months serves as a quiet home life for occupants of all ages living out this way. You'll find mostly friendly neighborhoods and well-guarded off-the-grid sights to see. Any chances of bumping into any strange wanderers are slim, so long as you avoid the caverns that wind and snake deep beneath the ground. What hides in those mazelike caverns, anyway...?
