"Commander, I've written up a report on the meeting between one Emanuel Mendez and two unknown subjects. Aura readings indicate that they are not of this area, nor even of this universe. Why Dr. Mendez would meet strange individuals, not of this universe is beyond me. It sounds a bit...shady if you will." "Very well, Faria. Leave it on my desk, I'll read it when I arrive in my office. In the meantime, get the Shattered Army's ass moving. A.N.G.E.L. is closing in on New Haven and fast. Looks to me like they are going to be making one final assault. Jetmir doesn't want his chokehold on the city ripped off at all!" "Heh...you can say that again. Faria, out." Several hours passed... "Huh...and what do we have here..." 203X CE, December 27th Hyannis Island, Striper Isles, MA Thursday, 1930 Hours Emanuel Mendez, tired from another thirteen-hour shift at Boston Hospital, was finally ten minutes away from his home on Hyannis Island. Just a straight away with a few stop signs here and there, and then he'd be able to pull into the smooth driveway leading to his luxurious home deep in the woods of the island. After that would be his long weekend he put in for. Boy, did he need it. Four surgeries, all a rousing success, and one a matter of life-or-death. Most doctors of his talent felt like they could change the world with what they were capable of doing. Maybe Mendez himself was changing the world, and he didn't even know it... His Mazda suddenly started to sputter, the red check engine light glaring brightly at his dull brown eyes. The sensitivity to light from this exhaustion, coupled with his car sickness...he felt ready to throw up. Smoke roiled from his engine suddenly, and the panic set in. His dull eyes suddenly lit up in fear as he pulled over to the side of the road, turning off the vehicle as quickly as he could before stepping out and opening the hood. What the hell just happened? Acrid clouds of black smoke billowed into Emanuel's face as he coughed and brushed the air to try swatting the smoke away, trying to clear his field of vision to locate just what the cause of his engine failure was. Due to the time he was strapped for these days, he could not exactly do the manual work himself. It was a good thing an old high school buddy of his ran a garage a few blocks away from his house, otherwise the good doctor would be rightly fucked. In a barely noticeable combination of a New England and Spanish accent, Emanuel thought out loud, "Just the thing I need tonight. My car shitting the bed." He looked around at the houses that surrounded the long road. All lights were off. Everyone out this way was an early to bed, early to rise type. Heh...guess they didn't have much of a social life beyond the weekends, didn't they? The bars out here in the Striper Isles were usually filled with these high-income types. Beings of all kinds lived in harmony out here. It did tug at Emanuel's curiosity, how powerful demons could live next door from a mere human, both working a high-salary career. If something happened between neighbors of differing species, they'd resolve the problem the same way two simple human neighbors would: quiet, peaceful discussion. Why couldn't the demon just zap the hell out of the human, or the human throw a silver cross at the demon? Don't even start on the angel neighbors...feather-brained idiots who'd make tea for window hopping ninjas, only to get kidnapped for some sacrificial ritual or another. What was the ritual for, to bring back a godly being Satanists promised would cleanse the land again? Oddly specific thought... He cursed out loud, slamming his fist on the engine, only causing more smoke to burst forth from the block. Emanuel coughed wildly, stepping a few paces away from the overheated car. Not overheated, more destroyed. Something couldn't combust properly in the engine, and now it backfired. Literally. He pegged off the car. "Fuckin' Mazda," was all Emanuel could mutter.

"You sure he would work?" Djinn asked Magnus as they walked down the road. "He is a hume after all. And some humes don't last during the process."
"I feel he will survive. We need more seeds. The more seeds we have, the more we can infiltrate the land. You know we had to make more after the whole Garnet incident."
Djinn sighed as Magnus was right. Her green eyes looking ahead seeing the smoke in the sky. She grinned. Her plan to sabotage the car had worked. Magnus's red eyes glared into the distance.
They walked more in the silence then. Both knowing the whole incident where Garnet went crazy and killed half their seeds with that damned magic book of his. Magnus wondered how he acquired a bigger stronger book.
Well, Rin had helped with that. And they didn't appreciate that they now were working for the way to fix things. Djinn tapped her shoulder then as they reached the red Mazda sitting there with smoke coming out of it.
Their target standing there.
"You look like you could use some help." Magnus said. "Car doesn't look to good."
"He probably could have done better with the bus." Djinn chuckled. "Do you require some assistance?"
Magnus then came near the man and looked at the car. Djinn had done a great job of messing with the engine.

"The bus...yeah, pay thirty bucks to spend four hours coming back home," Emanuel replied sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. "Great way to start a weekend, though I'd actually be home and my car would be fine." He turned, arching a brow as he eyed two figures approaching him, one of whom was the source of the voice offering help. Just what exactly were these ladies wearing? Late night, and wearing robes? This smelled of bad fish, and he wasn't talking about the dead fish scent that occasionally wafted in from the beaches.
A gust of wind brushed by, billowing more of the acrid smoke into his face, causing the good doctor to cough a little more. "Do you ladies know anything about engine repair? If not, do you think you could tow this hunk of junk over to my friend's garage?" he asked. "You'll know it when you see it, it's got a red roof and a shitload of old junk cars in the front. He likes to call them his 'pet projects.'" Emanuel was really hoping the smoke wasn't going to stain his white coat and baby blue scrubs.

"I see..." Magnus said as she approached the car and looked at the engine. "I think we can help."
The gust of wind almost blew the hood off the robed one named Magnus. The smoke that blew into her face made her cough for a moment. Djinn chuckled.
Her hands touching the battery as she eyed her handiwork. The battery sputtered and died. The insides almost didn't char. Which if they did this plan would fail.
"Might be a hefty price though. We don't just help for free." Magnus said as Djinn got to work. "How odd it would do this now. Hopefully it wasn't going somewhere important."
Djinn didn't say anything as she used her hands to carefully repair the damage. The magi rippling off her could be felt as she didn't need tools.
A few minutes more and the car was fixed. Djinn dirtied from working on such a weird machine. They didn't have cars where they came from.
"Should run now sir. Say, it's going to be something worthwhile to pay."
Magnus nodded as they approached Emanuel then. Djinn came behind him and locked her arms to keep him from moving as Magnus stood in front of him.
"Have you heard of the organization called the Red Blood Moon Children? We are it's leader. And we come to offer you something grandeur than your mortal life."
"I am sorry I tampered with your car." Djinn giggled then. "But we needed to approach you without the other humes showing up."
Magnus sighed. If only Garnet was here to help. The arrogant seed was good at his job.
