So he didn't remember her, pity really. It wouldn't matter either way. He pushed her to the ground as Alvin stood over her, yelling the same words again. It wasn't helping the situation.
My purpose is to find the tear that brought me here and go home.
Rin then eyed him with that peering crimson black orb of an eye. It was like she had an idea to corrupt this man. Somehow get someone on her side. Though her touch had placed some of the mirror shard into Artemis's skin.
In time the girl would return to her so she worried not about her escape. But Alvin was another matter in itself.
She smiled at the man, the dark plans manifesting within her mind, as if she wanted to take over this new place.
Tell me, what do you dream for? Why do you live beyond the greatness in that puny mortal coil? My purpose, is to bring mortals like you to beyond the limits of your mortal coil....
Rin then leaned in and bit him in the neck, she began to drink his blood and allow the mirror shards that lived inside her into his blood stream.

"My purpose is to find the tear that brought me here and go home." The tear? There was a tear that the Commonwealth didn't know about? What was she talking about? Alvin could only tighten his grip, at that point now trying to dislocate her shoulder. She just wasn't going to relent, was she? "HUDSON would have told me if there was a tear, now stop your lying and tell me what your real intention is!" spat Alvin over the sounds of sirens closing in, now both on ground and aerial. He should have expected drones sooner, but the city's logical algorithm had a system to go by--to be more exact, it escalated according to the situation. Depending on how worse the situation got, the city would deploy stronger and larger-scale forces. Alvin even heard rumors that the city once deployed itself to deal with a small portion of A.N.G.E.L. remnants marching through the streets, causing unrest for the supernaturals who lived and worked in the city.
The woman he had down smiled back up at him, her single eye piercing into his soul. "Tell me, what do you dream for? Why do you live beyond the greatness in that puny mortal coil?" she asked him mockingly. Alvin's eye twitched, but his grip eased up on her wrist and shoulder. She had a point behind the question. What was Alvin's true purpose? He worked for the United Commonwealth, protecting the State in its current condition of affairs, under former agent of A.N.G.E.L., Nathan Marshall. But it turned out, during his service in operation: Fractured Ascendancy, he was a double agent. He was working for both the conglomerate and the Shattered Army...
Could Marshall be trusted again, especially after prolonging his life and escaping his inevitable death with alterations to his DNA? Could Marshall be pulling a fast one on the State?
"My purpose, is to bring mortals like you to beyond the limits of your mortal coil...." Before he could make any further action, Rin leaned in, biting his neck. Hard. A chill ran down his spine then as he felt the blood run from the wound in his neck. He loosened his grip on the woman, trying to pull himself away. "Get off me, I'm not freaking dinner!" he exclaimed as he finally forcibly removed himself from her grasp, standing on his feet now before drawing his handgun. One-handed white knuckled grip, his arm trembled as he had the firearm aimed straight for her heart. "Assaulting a CO of the United Commonwealth with intent to kill..."
Alvin pulled the trigger, whether or not the bullet hit was up to chance. "...I can't leave any hostiles living. I'm sorry, civilian."

Rin laughed. The bullet hit her left shoulder as the black blood oozed out of the wound and down her arm. Alvin killing her? A joke.
And why is that? Is it because your masters need their dog back? However, my mirror shards are already in you, infecting you to become a servant to me.
Rin mocked him as she heard the blaring sirens. Her teeth gritting against themselves as she muttered. Why did everything have to be so loud here?
She felt her panda ears fall against her skull trying to block out the noise. She wanted them to go away. Be destroyed.
Rin then looked at Alvin. He was a stubborn one. But he would fall soon. She had infected him whether he wanted to believe her or not.

Before Alvin could reply, the sirens closed in as larger vehicles, SWAT trucks it looked like, screeched to a halt, surrounding the two beings. Highbeams shined brightly, almost blinding Alvin. He shielded his eyes with an empty hand over his brow, teeth grit. He focused his attention on the woman in front of him, the drones hovering in overhead with bright red laser-sights pointed rigth at the both of them.
"Got any plans to get us out of this mess? Cuz I don't got any rocket launchers on me, babe," Alvin called out over the loud noises.

Rin eyed the flash of bright light as she growled. Everyone here seemed to want to stop her from what she wanted to do.
Standing up from being assaulted by Alvin, she looked up at the thing shining the light into their eyes. Seems it was one annoyance after another.
Don't call me babe. And of course I do. I'm going to destroy them.
Rin placed her hands together as a bright light enimated her own form. With that came the release of her magi once again and before he could answer, crystal shards flew from her hands to the helicopters and whomever else had the bright light and was chasing them.
It was here that if the shards hit their targets they would explode and crash to the ground. Whomever survived she would smash apart with her oar.
The truth was that she was hungry and no one wanted to be a meal. And it put her in a real bad mood. With that she began to walk out of the park.

Explosions. Loud, bright explosions before any of the vehicles could spin down their weapons filled the air and the ground, causing Alvin to duck and pull both of his arms over his head. Chunks of SWAT trucks went flying in several directions as the drones overhead spun out of the air, spiraling into trees, park benches, and lamp posts before going up in puffs of fiery clouds and indescribable pieces of metal. She soon left, leaving Alvin in a circle of flames, charred and melting metal structures, and a furrowed brow of frustration. Her back was to him, and she wouldn't see anything coming if Alvin were to bring his gun up now and shoot for the back of her head. In fact, he did.
A dark brown eye peered down the iron sights, his hand steady and free of quivering. Arm bent at the elbow, finger on the trigger, he watched the red panda tailed woman walk away. The voluptuous red panda tailed woman...No, he couldn't bring himself to plant a bullet into her brain matter. Even if she assaulted a CO of the UC, she was a beautiful woman who did nothing more than save his life from these automatons. Though, if Alvin knew anything about escalation of consequence, there was a third level of security coming for him...them...right now. No more sirens from any vehicles, but rather...
All over the city. As if out of warning a nuclear strike, the loud sirens blared from every available speaker in River City. Alvin Davidson was not fazed by this, however. He heard these sirens before during a tour of duty he did in California; the West Coast was almost fried by a massive nuclear-tipped missile launched from somewhere in the Philippines. Were it not for the United Californians' Republic (UCR), a State military almost exactly like the UC in every way with the exception that mostly former Hellion demons comprised of it, Alvin would be nothing more than a charred skeleton standing on top of a skyscraper in Los Angeles. A General of the UCR, having once been a General in the Legions of Hell, took flight and wrestled with the rapid missile, trying to toss it into the air, towards space. He ended up succeeding, but at the cost of extreme radiation poisoning. Needless to say, even demons were not immune to radiation--as for the missile, it was zapped out of existence by one of the UCR's weapon-equipped satellites. The General died a few days later, and the heated conflict between the Philippines and the UCR calmed to a cold war.
That was four years ago.
Gun lowered, Alvin called out to the woman as he started following her, "Hey! Girl! Any ideas what we can do to get out of here?" He knew he started an unnecessary conflict out here in River City. All because, what, Nathan Marshall sent him on a crazy mission to investigate what was going on with the security algorithms? What was Marshall's plan, to get Davidson killed?

Rin stopped walking for a moment as she looked over her shoulder, the pieces of flying metal and debris falling like snow.
Her crimson black eye peered at Alvin. He asked where they could go, but the half breed had no idea where she was. However she looked down to see the gun in his hand.
Why didn't he shoot her? She had killed so many of his kind in the few meager moments she had come here. Rin would also eat more people here.
She turned around and walked right up to Alvin and stood barely an inch from him. He was something that wanted to kill her and barely could. Though in all fairness he couldn't either way.
Sealment however was another story altogether.
I wouldn't know a city here. This isn't my home so I have no idea where to go. Do you? I mean you have the world chasing you. You'll probably die before you figure it out. I however will continue eating the humans here.
Rin smiled as if she was mocking him. Of course she did have a bullet in her shoulder. And it was bugging her. But for now she ignored it as she stared at him.
Then again the choice you make here will either break or make you. You could follow me and become consumed by the mirror shard or die here.
Rin then turned around once more and began to walk away. The helicopters and police could come, let them as they didn't know what they were dealing with.
A woman with the power to tear them all asunder. She then stopped for a moment and looked over her shoulder.
Call me Rin. I am afraid that you won't escape the corruption of the shard. None do. You could fight it but it will drain the energy to escape your pursuers.
With that she began to walk down the path unsure of where she was headed or going. She was lost in this world but she would begin once again enslaving the masses to finish her goal.
And to find the tear and go home.

"Ah, shit..." Nathan Marshall sat at his desk at HQ up in Boston, face buried in his hands as the 3D hologram displayed in front of him showed a flashing red blip labeled "Cpt. Davidson." The U.C. satellites were zeroed in on the man's position, and all Nathan could see was constant danger coming for his best captain. Whatever destroyed the first two waves of automatons was powerful--no, more of a whoever--and it was not willing to let Alvin go without getting a few good shot in on him first. Shots...taunts...what was Davidson doing entertaining this creature?
"Aerynn, bring up video history of Captain Davidson's actions this past hour," he told the AI that governed the fortress city. A small 3D hologram depicting a young woman with some curve to her body and shoulder-cropped hair appeared in front of him on the desk in a flash of blue light. She was no taller than 11 inches, though she could change her size depending on the situation and where she needed to be.
"As you wish, General Marshall," she replied, her voice effeminate yet strong. The large hologram map of River City was soon replaced with a first-person perspective of Alvin Davidson on his motorcycle, riding towards a large computerized tower that rose up from where a manhole would have been. Suddenly, the view stilted, and there were a couple of rolls before a huge explosion filled the sky. Soon, helicopters, and a couple of women arguing on a park bench. Alvin muttering something to himself, and then in a heartbeat, harassment. One of the women approached Alvin and straight harassed him. She was suddenly on the ground, arm twisted behind her, but she was laughing. She turned around on him and bit his neck. Then she backed away, and Alvin shot her in the shoulder. Nathan would have done the same, though he would have reacted sooner. They were surrounded by larger vehicles and drones ready to turn them into Swiss cheese with their weaponry, and then the woman unleashed a large shockwave of energy, decimating the automatons. Then she said something about being left to die or follow her...
"That will be all, Aerynn," Nathan said pensively. The small AI girl returned the view to the hologram map of the city. "Anything else you wish from me for the moment?" she asked. Nathan waved it aside subconsciously, shaking his head. "We're good..." was all he said. "You're free to go."
Aerynn was engineered after Cortana from the Halo series, which in a strange way Nathan found interesting and at the same time, annoying. The UMass programmers were huge nerds, so much so that they incorporated XBox into everything they did. Aerynn was the product of one of these such things, though Nathan made it clear.
"We're not calling her Cortana. I'm not losing our military funding from Microsoft."
So they added a fox tail to her as well. Nerds...furries and nerds, was what they were...
Though Aerynn was beyond valuable in terms of reliability. She nodded and disappeared as per request, and Nathan pulled his radio out, speaking into it. "Kenny Murphy, I need you to get off your lazy ass over at Archives' and get to a drop point in River City, stat," he said sharply. "Pick up Alvin Davidson, he is in grave peril."
----------
"What...what shard?!" Alvin barked before gritting his teeth. "What the hell did you do to me?! "ANSWER ME!" he roared as he ran after the woman named Rin.

Do you creatures have to be so loud and noisy? Shouting and yelling at the top of your lungs for no reason. How annoying.
Rin said as she turned around to face Alvin. He was furious to her last remark and why not? She had shoved a piece of mirror shard into his body. Who wouldn't be mad at that?
You seem to be confused about what I've done. Seeming you're screaming. I placed a mirror shard inside you when I bit you. In time it's going to create your twin or doppelganger as they call it.
Afraid that it's going to change you. You could fight it but that will waste what little energy you have left. Or...
Rin paused as she crossed her arms against her chest. The half breed tilted her head as she didn't understand these creatures. They wasted such energies fighting what could make them stronger.
Better.
Rin then let her arms fall to her sides as she once more approached Alvin and grabbed his arms pulling him forward towards her. It was here she leaned in breathed into his mouth. Well, she was that close he could feel her breath.
The small breath she had since she was not the same as he was.
Or you can come with me and I can show you what you can become beyond your mortal coil. Grant your desires, your wishes. Anything you want or hold dear...
You can even show up your superiors.
Rin then teased his lips with hers before she let her small white fangs appear and bite into his neck again drinking the fluid that came forth.
Allowing the mirror shards to dig deeper into his insides.

She suddenly grabbed Alvin in an embrace and pulled him close to her. He could feel her hot breath stroking his lips as she stared into his eyes with her own single eye. The height difference, the sheer five inch difference in stance, was not enough to get her breath off his skin. Alvin tried turning away and wriggling out of her grasp but to no avail. He could feel her lips caressing his as he turned his head in one of several directions--why a kiss??--before she went to dig her fangs into his flesh again. This time, he was able to pull himself out of Rin's grip entirely, shoving her off and backing away.
"What the hell are you doing? Does my blood taste like fruit punch to you or somethin'?" Alvin spat, backing away a few steps. His tiny earpiece went off, and suddenly, his General's voice was heard. Nathan Marshall...finally. Boss man got in touch with him.
"Captain Davidson, I am sending an airlift your way. Kenny Murphy of the Archives' will meet you in the downtown section via helicopter, his ETA will be fifteen minutes. Get there stat." That was it. All Nathan needed to say. No response form Alvin, and the earpiece was tiny enough to allow for only Alvin and Alvin alone to hear. He stared back up at Rin, getting a quick look at her chest for the moment and smirking to himself before making eye contact with her.
"Fuck following a lost woman around," he told her before quickdrawing his gun and shooting several shots at her shin and stomach before reholstering the weapon. As he turned, he added, "If I wanted to follow the blind, I'd just follow Ray Charles, and he's dead!" With that, Alvin dashed off in the direction of downtown, towards the city's skyscrapers that were silhouetted by the bright urban lights. He didn't care how swift or powerful Rin was; he wanted to get away from her, head back to HQ and get himself bandaged up. Also get research done on those alleged mirror shards that Rin was talking about...

Again with the gun. And another meal lost. It was not her day. Rin sat there as her black blood dripped onto the ground from her wounds.
She said nothing as he taunted her. Nothing as he ran off. Rin tilted her head, in time the shards would do their work and it would have to suffice for the half breed.
What seemed like minutes ticking into hours she stood and decided to go about her ways, it wasn't just shards she could put in people. She could make them into seeds and even artifacts.
Rin was a dangerous being to have laying about. The half breed decided to walk, she wanted to see about the tear Artemis told her about.
And she wanted to see if it was closed or not. Rin sighed as she wanted to find a good meal. She was starving.

It felt like hours that Alvin was running. His lungs were burning, and he could feel an intense pain shoot all through his body. It wasn't from the running or the exercise he did for the day. Something else, like sharp needles digging themselves into his body, tingled all up and down his body. Alvin grunted in pain, teeth grit as he leaped skillfully over several overturned trash cans. He was coming up on the downtown section now, the roads widening and becoming more twisted and mazelike in a labyrinth of overpasses, highways and ramps leading onto interstates. Interstates which, sadly, would only go to sky trains at the farthest edges of the State these days.
He reached a low railing that overlooked a seven-lane road that fed into a long tunnel supporting the massive structure several thousand feet in front of him that was City Hall. River City Government Center... A hand whipped to his side as Alvin felt a biting sensation digging into his muscle tissue. He shouted in agony for a split moment before before leaping over the railing, landing in a three point stance about twenty or so feet below into the empty highway. Nathan told him during his run that Kenny Murphy was going to meet with him in this area. The quickest way to the rooftop of the massive City Hall was through the Maintenance Elevator located about halfway through the tunnel.
No cars were on the highway due to curfew. No cars piloted by any biological drivers, that was... As Alvin started another sprint, ignoring the sharp pangs of pain sprinkling his body, he could feel the vibrations of something massive rumbling through the street, rocking up his feet and into his legs with every stomp he took of his sprint. There was nothing in front of him, and when Alvin turned his neck to look behind him, he saw it. A battalion of massive white tanks were droning their way towards him, bright lights pinned on him. He could hear the same automated voice calling for his arrest, and all Alvin had in his loadout was his handgun and a handful of bullets left in the magazine. His last explosive was used all that time ago on the massive cybernetic tower that sized him up to be blown to smithereens. Who was in smithereens now, bitch?
His judgement outweighed his testosterone, and Alvin leaped onto a railed maintenance walkway lining the wall over the highway tunnel. The heavy cannons of the large tanks followed like annoying pests, their crosshairs over his person. An automated command rang out. "Alvin Davidson. Prepare for elimination." A sound like a massive gust of wind shot out behind him, and Alvin chuckled. "Yeah, over my living body," he grunted as he leaped upward onto the wall. He kicked off of it and ducked into a combat roll as the large projectile made contact with the maintenance wall, leaving behind a gaping, smoldering crater of melted rock. The contact of the projectile shook the entire tunnel, and Alvin could see chunks of rock suddenly falling from the ceiling above him. They hadn't updated this structure in several years! So much for a self-sufficient city!
He judged the reload time to take at least fifteen seconds, and Alvin went into the highest speed he had ever gone. He came up finally to the bright red maintenance door, a lock that was under the control of both the River City engineers and the United Commonwealth. Seemed the city had more of a symbiotic relationship with the State military than people previously though. To this, Alvin smiled triumphantly. He pulled his ID out from his coat pocket quickly, all while counting down the reload times in his head. 7...6... The scanner on the door took in the barcode on his badge and the lock clicked. 5...4...3... Alvin quickly turned the knob and ducked in, slamming the door behind him. He didn't need to count down the last two seconds, as he could feel another session of major quaking running through the tunnel. What sounded like a tidal wave of rocks sounded beyond the door, sending small dust particles and pieces of concrete falling down from the ceiling in the maintenance corridor Alvin managed to escape with his life into. He smirked at the idea that he outsmarted River City itself, and carried on towards the elevator, confidence in his stride.
----------
It was another good half hour until Alvin found himself on the roof, one of the highest points in River City. He saw several paces in front of him, under shining white lights, the large helipad that was built for any landings here on the roof. Anything from the Mayor's exclusive helicopter to civil service choppers to even State military helis. In this case, it would be the all-inclusive Archives' helicopter, as piloted by a famous man under the name Kenny Murphy. Alvin shrugged and sauntered to the pad. He was told fifteen minutes. It had been a half hour. What traffic was there up in the air?!
Suddenly, a click sounded on his earpiece, and Alvin pressed the tragus of his ear to let the message through. An optimistic man was on the other end, and Alvin could hear the helicopter's blades spinning madly in the background. "Hey, Davidson! Long time no see! Sorry I'm late, Master Silver needed me to do a little something extra for her before I went to do Nate's task," Kenny said. Alvin could hear the smile Kenny was wearing, and he had no choice but to smile himself.
"What's your ETA, Ken?" Alvin asked as he stood at the small staircase leading up to the pad.
"Gonna be there in another sixty seconds. Man, this Apache is fast!" Kenny replied. "Murphy, out!"
A click ended the transmission, and in almost no time flat, Alvin felt the top-down wind of a large helicopter way above fluttering his jacket and shoulder-length hair. A young fox celestial's head popped out of the side door before throwing down a rope ladder, giving Alvin the thumbs up to climb. Kenny's voice could be heard from the megaphones over the helicopter.
"Time to call it a night, eh, Al?" he laughed as Alvin climbed the rope ladder quickly and carefully.
He rolled into the chopper, pulling himself up and dusting off his body while the fox being pulled up the rope ladder. Smiling, Alvin answered, "Think I need a vacation. Can you bring me back to HQ please? I need to see the medic."
"Can do!" Kenny replied. He twisted his body with the joystick that controlled the large helicopter to the left, and as Alvin sat and strapped himself in, he looked out the window to his right. The small circular lens gave him insight to the large self-sufficient city that was River City, the computerized jewel of Taunton County. Alvin grinned. They avoided being decimated by the very city.
The fox being sat beside Alvin, looking up at him with a soft foxy smile before looking straight ahead at the now-closed door. He was a rather silent one. Then again, most Archives' personnel were. Alvin didn't want there to be silence in the helicopter as they flew north towards Boston.
He didn't have to worry about that.
The helicopter was suddenly rocked off course by a huge projectile, Kenny swearing out loud--"SUNUVABITCH!!!"--as he swerved madly to keep the chopper on course. He clicked a few buttons and engaged the weapons control that was attached to the helicopter, then looked behind him, "Archer, battlestation!" he called to the fox celestial. "Sir," came the celestial's reply as he got up and ran off on anthropomorphic legs to a room at the far end of the helicopter. Alvin gritted his teeth and growled in frustration. "Al, you're free to help, too, go to the door, pull out the Gatling gun and start firin'!" Kenny shouted. Alvin didn't like taking orders from non Commonwealth personnel, but he understood Kenny's intention behind his words. He unstrapped himself from the seat and made his way to the door, sliding it open and sliding the attached minigun over to his hands. Looking over the crosshairs, Alvin could see it. A group of AH-64 Apaches had their lights pinned on the durable combat-transport chopper of Kenny's, and they looked like they were ready to fire off another wave.
Kenny shouted over the commotion. "Ready!" Alvin leaned in and gripped the handles tightly, fingers itching to squeeze the triggers. Archer must have done the same, and a second fox being, this one in human form with green wavy hair past her shoulders and white fox ears, jogged over to the door opposite of Alvin, taking up the same arm. He felt like they were a little at a disadvantage given the time it took for this one, Arin as she would be named, to assume her position. All four sides of the chopper were manned, and Kenny exclaimed, "FIRE!"
All four sides, the rear, the nose, and either side of the body, were suddenly lit up with a rain of bright yellow light. They took down a few of the Apaches that ascended into the air, occasionally taking out a few stray Stinger missiles that made their way towards the vicinity of the chopper, but with each one helicopter Alvin, Arin or Archer all took down, three more took its place. Where the hell were these airborne vehicles coming from?! Where did River City get the money to do this?!
"Hang on guys!" Kenny called out. "I'm gonna radio for some backup...!" Alvin rolled his eyes and continued firing the seemingly never-ending barrage of bullets at helicopter after resilient helicopter, hoping they'd be able to escape soon...
