Ultimate Chef, Iron Warrior - May the best Dog win, Dave vs Julian

Stanley "Julienne" Clarence, known as Julian by all but his closest friends, straightens his tie in front of the mud room mirror one last time before leaving the club. The laid back sweater and slacks outfit he often seen in was just for the club. It got expensive always needing to clean beer and other stuff out of the suit at the end of the day. Not that he expected tonight's outfit to survive intact til morning.
He is well dressed in a black suit and rich wine red tie. The suit is accessorized by a simple red ruby and gold tie bar, matching ruby and gold cufflinks, and gold lapel pin of a tree growing out of a book. His wavy brown locks are combed back from his face and held in place with little hair spray. A classic style black leather double combination lock briefcase and large black hook handle umbrella completes the assemble.
He slips on a pair of mirrored shades as he crosses the employee parking lot to the midnight blue suburban. He slides into the back and settles in as the driver pulls out of the parking spot. He opens the briefcase as the SUV turns onto the streets and heads into the city.
On top was simply a folded letter, inviting him out of a certain address. The husky rereads the short letter then proceeds to the photo quality print outs underneath. He studies reviews the collection of satellite and ground level surveillance photos of the address.
There really was not much to see, it was a construction site in its early stages. He had an artist render office building against the current skyline among the print outs. He only looked at it once. At the moment he is more concerned with what was actually there.
Not much really was there yet, the retaining wall is finished and the ground was leveled at the bottom save for the dirt ramp for the dump trucks. Photo's shows a bulldozer, a 'steam' roller, a backhoe, and more recently arrived a pile-driver, pallets of rebar. One the outside of the site are a half dozen generator powered work lights, green portable toilets, and the contractor trailers.
The suburban pulls into the construction site and makes a partial u-turn at the top of the ramp before stopping. The blue eye husky slips the pair of yellow tinted mirrored tactical shades back on before tugging on a pair of black leather gloves and grabbing a pair of butterfly swords out from the bottom of the briefcase.
He slides out of the SUV and closes the door behind him. The suburban pulls away as he walks toward the ramp. All the heavy equipment is still parked in one corner for the weekend, the contractor trailer is dark, no-one is around, but the work lights are still on. Nothing unusual there. The lock being cut and the chain pull out to lay on the ground though on the fence gate though was very unusual. He gives the gate a light push with his toe to open it enough to walk down into the pit.

Late night streets of New Haven were no joke, and the new gang that was on the rise--run by an ally he nicknamed "Dan"--had done enough work to keep suspicious activities out of plain view. There were still assaults, there were still street wars, but they were farther and fewer between. A merc group was in session, but the demon king wandering the streets lighting his cigar had to set that idea on the backburner along with everything else. He didn't have nearly the funds required to start a small militia, nor did he and his closest friend and mentor agree that it was absolutely time to recruit surface-born demons to pull the task off. The demon lord took a puff of his cigar as he scanned the scenery with shining gold eyes before suddenly feeling a vibration in his denim jean pocket, followed by a loud sharp retort of alarm. Text messages, worst idea for a man who amassed a large crowd of allies.
"This better be good," he mused in his gruff, smooth voice as he pulled the cell phone from his pocket. It was a smart phone he purchased with the Archives some time ago, seeing as their plans were substantially more beneficial to the customer base than even Fruit Salad devices. His eyes scanned the message before a he let out a curious rur and arced an eyebrow.
cOnSTRuctIOn sITe in DOwnToWn NEW haVEn
No punctuation, no other real sentence structure except conveying a vague idea to its reader. The lord grimaced and shook his head as he pocketed the phone. He knew which construction site this was being held at, and the message was constructed more in a ransom method than a typical invitation. Why did he always get the crazy texts?
With another puff of his cigar, the demon focused his energy as he closed his eyes. His arsenal suddenly appeared on his person, from his two katanas Gravedigger and Genkakuken to the dragon fang zanabtou, the Cruxis Fang. Each katana was strapped to either side of his waist while the large seven-foot zanbatou was slung diagonally over his back. He had a feeling this was not going to be a casual meeting with the President of Unicorn Land to discuss lollipop deterrence with the sinister...
Never mind, the demon just went ahead at a light jog in the direction of the site three blocks over. He put out the unfinished cigar, knowing in his gut he wasn't going to be seeing it again until the next morning, if at all. It was all dependent on the approaching situation at hand.
Bright lights glowing brightly out of a fenced in pit told Dave Cruxis that he was coming up on the alleged meeting site. He wasn't exactly dressed for a proper fight should one break out, just a pair of blue jeans, his common black leather boots and a black v-neck tanktop. Even the loose shoulder-length navy blue ponytail was pushing it; shouldn't it all have been tied back? Well, there was no time to correct his shortcomings on such short notice.
The semi-closed gate was a telltale sign that someone was already in there, and a few meters from it was a parked SUV, looking in decent enough condition. At least it was someone who could take care of their vehicle, and not some drugged out scumbag who decided to steal it from--or, it could have been that, too, given the city's worsening condition. Dave pushed the gate open once he approached it, descending the large dirt ramp that led into the brightly lit foundation. Vehicles neatly parked on one side, pallets of construction materials close by, and...a finely dressed gentleman? He tilted his head in curious canine fashion as he reached the bottom of the ramp to the leveled ground.
"Waiting on the goods?" Dave asked as he stopped after a couple of steps, placing his right hand casually on his right pocket as if he was feeling for his phone. Right beside it was the hilt to Gravedigger, but for all any passersby who were insane enough to be awake at this hour knew he was a katana obsessed otaku.
His wolf tail twitched apprehensively, the only slightest giveaway that he was waiting for something to go down tonight.
Posted by: EightTailFox Feb 18 2016, 07:00 PM
"Nah. I think it just arrived." Julian replies to the wolf demon. First Lieutenant Cruxis was not his first guess as to who'd he meet here, or even among the first thousand guesses. Not that it matters he would still play this game, at least while it is entertaining.
"I'm not sure why we're here but I got a few guesses, old friend. Even if I'm wrong this is still going to be fun. Just like old times." The husky chuckles. He already had some of the nearly invisible wires spread out across the field.
"My first guess starts like this," He says and swings his main sword to point at Dave. The wires connecting his right glove to the multi-ton 'steamroller' pull taught and sends the expensive and very heavy bit of construction flying at high speed at Dave's face.
"Since you came with weapons instead of food you don't need to know my second guess." He continues as he follows the high velocity flying steamroller toward Dave with swords at the ready. He presses the attack with a fury of slashes powerful enough to the steamroller if Dave has not already destroyed it.

Just arrived? What is this, a drug deal about to wrap up?
The man in fancy dress continued as Dave straightened his posture, his glare apprehensive of the husky's actions and choice of words.
"I'm not sure why we're here but I got a few guesses, old friend. Even if I'm wrong this is still going to be fun. Just like old times," the man stated with a chuckle. The replies got another arced eyebrow out of Dave. Old times? Old friend? The wolf demon lived a fairly long life, and he met many people, upwards of a thousand or more, from all walks of life. Literally. It was hard to place which era in his life this man came from, or if he mistook Dave for someone else entirely.
"My first guess starts like this."
The other canine pointed a sword in Dave's direction, and suddenly there was a groaning noise in the distance, like gears being forced from their locked positions. Something was coming at him, did this man just summon...a flying steamroller?!
"What the hell?!" Dave exclaimed as he immediately drew Gravedigger from its sheath, plunging it deep into the ground to summon a large wave of high, thick stalagmites in the direction of the steamroller. The wave went on for twenty or so meters, ready to knock or pierce anything in its straight, coning path. He then pulled the earth-bending katana from the ground, following the action with a fluid roll to his right to dodge any further attacks his way.
"What's your deal? You get hit on the head or something, what's this about 'old friend' and 'old times'?!" the wolf exclaimed as he pushed himself to his feet, drawing Genkakukken in the process. Nothing the husky was saying made any sense to Dave, and the only thing that would give him answers would be the battle.
Posted by: EightTailFox Feb 20 2016, 01:50 PM
Julian drops back slightly as he hears a the wolf draw a sword. He familiar with the new tricks of his old friend. He sword was probably the sword call 'Gravedigger' in which case he'd need to leap. If its the other well he might need to duck. The ground rumbles on cue though, and he leaps and uses the thick body of the steam roller to protect himself from the wave of summoned spikes.
"I think you're the one that's been hit to many times in the head. Hard head or no, I think you're short a few pearls of wisdom." Julian quips from on top of the steam roller.
He does a one-eighty leap off the wrecked construction equipment and seems to vanished in a blindingly bright midair explosion. The blast though merely corrects his air born course and accelerates the blue eye man even faster. Quickly forming flare wings provides final guidance towards Dave.
As he flies past the wolf's left side, Julian attacks with all his weapons: two swords, eight sharpened flare wings, and eight strands of nearly invisible monofilament wires. The ten blades are merely a slashing distraction so he can loop the wires around Dave.
He flips around and lands on all fours behind Dave. The flare wings setting into there default arrangement of stacked four pointed stars over his left shoulder. In an arm gesture like a puppet master controlling his puppets, pulls back on the strings to slice the wolf to bits like so much cheese.
"Is your hide as thick as your memory?" He asks the wolf.
Posted by: Mister Karma Feb 23 2016, 11:31 PM
The gentleman made a leap over the wolf demon, using an explosion as an illusion of flash-desummoning to propel himself behind Dave. All around him, Dave's keen eyes could see quick little glints of silver from the dissipating light above before they suddenly camouflaged into the bright work lights. Then he smirked. Something in his mind was clicking, though he couldn't exactly place what. Now this was beginning to feel familiar.
First, he needed to deal with the slashes coming his way. The husky was flying past his left side, everything swinging...or so Dave assumed. Quickly, he side stepped his left side away from the assault as he ducked down low in a quick backward combat roll, landing on all fours in a crouching position to finish the motion as he kept the husky within his peripherals.
Dave could see him move his hands as though he were a puppet master, a trick he was all too familiar with not just from him, but from Tam as well. Instead of aura strings, however, this was the filament he spotted shining through the brightness of the explosion the gentleman made. His smirk widened as suddenly, the puppet strings closed in all around him.
"Is your hide as thick as your memory?" the canine asked. Dave could feel a burning sensation overtake all of his body in that moment, from his face down to his knees. A stinging, tugging sensation that felt as though he was being ripped apart consumed him, his limbs feeling distant, his head feeling detached, his body burning. The art of flash desummoning was an intricate one, one that even lesser demons had trouble with perfecting without losing a few hairs or limbs, as he performed a flash step just inches behind the other canine demon, plunging Gravedigger again into the ground to bring forth a massive pillar of stone from beneath the man, aiming to toss him into the air. The other katana, Genkakukken, vibrated violently in his other hand, its thunder thirsting for blood, aching to send a jolt of Tessler power through his system.
Target practice is less fun without guns...
With a horizontal swing of the Illusion Blade, Dave sent out a powerful wave of lightning in the path of the winged canine, should he take flight. He wanted to keep things nice and simple before pulling out the bigger knives. Of course, with this man, that would never be the case. Dave would have to match wits and surpass him; that was how he made First Lieutenant, and later, Demon King of the Wolves. He had to back that up, more for image purposes than having anything at stake.
The fight was becoming nothing more than sport to him now.
Posted by: EightTailFox Feb 25 2016, 10:00 PM
Julian's flare wings spin out to englobe the husky in a protective shell when the strings go slack. The Wolf could reappear anywhere after desummoning out of the bindings. He puts his hands down to the ground to brace for the surprise attack. The ground under him slams up into him on cue. Good boy! He thinks as he spots the wolf down below him as he is propelled upward.
He waits for the pillar to stop driving him upward before flipping down the far side of stone column from Dave. The wires flash out and the base of the pillar crumbles into so many neatly cut wedges. The stone column now severed from the ground, a jet of flames bursts from the top to rocket the falling pillar down onto Dave.
His wires condense into a massive lightning rod to ground the lightning aura as he descends to the ground. The wires vanishes again as they are spread back out into invisibility.
Julian faces Dave and jabs both swords in to the ground to send a wave of power through the ground to temporarily liquefy a cone of ground in front of him. For good measure he flings off his flare wings as a pair of giant shuriken to pincer the wolf before he escapes.
Posted by: Mister Karma Mar 23 2016, 03:36 AM
That should even things out! the demon king thought with a triumphant smirk, watching as Julian leaped from the pillar, just as anticipated. There was a swift slicing noise that caught Dave's attention, and when he looked up his pillar was toppling in his direction. Easy enough dodge. A quick roll to his left out of the path of the stone pillar was all he needed, and as it crashed kicking up a cloud of dust amd debris it suddenly began tilting into the quickly heating ground.
Wait...
Ground in New Haven couldn't heat this quickly, even with the active volcano due thirty miles north. This was no issue, though. Liquifying rock could be easily dealt with even without Dave's own manipulation of earth and fire auras. He countered Julian's tactic with his own, burying Gravedigger into the ground before channeling an explosive aura through the earth. The end result was a collapsing bowl about fifteen meters deep and twenty meters wide, leaving the wolf to stand on a lone.pillar of rock in the.middle of the lava-filling crater.
Shining gold eyes still on his old brother in arms, Dave spotted the two quick flashes of light headed his way. The wings became shurikens, a resourceful tactic they both used during the war--think outside the box, they'd say to their platoon!--spinning madly for.the demon's blood. Dave fought every urge to roll his eyes as he leaped backwards...and at the same time, forward? Splitting himself into two of his copies, one clone sprouted its demon wings and flew towards Julian, swinging both its katanas to bat away the shuriken wings and followed woth a downward horizontal scissor slice at the husky. Another propelled itself backwards with a beat of its wings to land on the other end of the freshly dug crater, watching the man and waiting for him to make a move as it charged in its hand a small ball of exploding aura that could wipe out energy once injected into one's system. The third flash stepped above the battlefield to gain a birdseye view of the fight, both swords at the ready and aching to destroy more ground. Genkakuken was humming wildly and Gravedigger hungered for more digging. All three had their weapons available, and all three had their eyes on the husky.
They knew he was smart, but even geniuses could be kept busy if distracted correctly.
Posted by: EightTailFox Mar 28 2016, 06:14 PM
Julian is unfazed by the splitting wolf. It just meant that the wolves have less individual power to fling his way. Three opponents barely even tax his concentration. He still have had plenty of blade to occupy the wolf.
With a mental command his wing skurikens shatter into individual wing blades. Two blades flash forward to strike at the retreating wolf. Two rocket skyward to harass the aerial eyes. The final four blades loop back around to chase the attacking clone.
The four wings will not be back in time to guard him. It matters not. The husky simply raises his arm to block the twin blades. Well a rock solid disk of aura imposes between the arm and blades. His free hand binds the wires around the wolf to hold the him in place for the wings to attack. A thrust of the butterfly sword joins the strikes from the wing swords.
"You should know better to get that close, Davie." Jillian taunts as he keeps the clones busy with the wings.
Posted by: Mister Karma Jun 5 2016, 03:06 AM
Well, that went fairly well. No directly charging the opponent. That was going to make things much more interesting. The aerial eyes got at least that much information before agreeing to a game of pong with Julian's wings. He brought both katanas up in an X shape before bringing them down on the incoming shuriken blades. The retreating clone noted the pair of wings sailing his way. Just the advantage he needed! Nuts to being chased by tjem on the return trip! The charging clone made a sparking contact with Julian's twin blades, allowing himself to be wrapped in the man's wires. Both the butterfly blades and returning wings sliced up the copy, and it soon disappeared in a puff of acrid hellish smoke. The newly charging clone flipped over the twin blades coming for him, and noted the cloud of smoke as its opening to attack the husky. Bringing both its katanas together as a two-in-one sword, it glided parallel to the ground, aiming to run the man through with the blades.
The third wolf above felt a bit of his energy return to him as his distraction, however miniscule it was, poofed away. He smacked the assaulting blades away, back towards Julian, before twirling the Illusion Blade rapidly in his left hand. He gave Gravedigger a powerful toss just a handful of yards behind the husky, letting loose a powerful earthquake that amyone within a few blocks' radius could feel. Then, tossing his Genkakuken skyward, Dave made a speedy airborne lunge at Julian, a new Genkakuken still in his hand while the sky high sword unleashed powerful bolts of lightning towards the ground. The new blade was aimed to run him through upon contact.

Julian does roll his eyes as the farthest of the reverses directions and also charges. It was a classic use your clone as an distraction attack. He lowers his round shield even as his wings return to strengthen his defense.
He lets the ground clone get in close. The former seaman stance rock steady even as the ground bucks and shakes under him. He watches the upward tossed sword with the edge of this vision. His free hand manipulating the wires one last time to send both the load of rebar and the bulldozer flying into the air. The husky severs his direct connection to the wires as the sky sword stopped ascending.
The majority of his attention though was still on the charging clone. At less than 5 feet he detonates the round shield, the condense aura of the shield erupting outward as a destructive jet of energy.
Meanwhile the bulldozer is preforming an very un-bulldozer maneuver of ascending to intercept a sword suspended in midair, and the rebar has been cut and accelerated into a very fast and dangerous spread of pointy projectiles aimed to intercept the airborne wolf.
"What is this? Amateur Night?" Julian asks the wolf from under the protective umbrella of his wings. The husky stood in the center of the chaos like the calm eye of a powerful hurricane.

"Waiting on the goods?" Dave asked as he stopped after a couple of steps, placing his right hand casually on his right pocket as if he was feeling for his phone. "What the hell?!" The wave went on for twenty or so meters, ready to knock or pierce anything in its straight, coning path.

Julian drops back slightly as he hears a the wolf draw a sword. He familiar with the new tricks of his old friend. He sword was probably the sword call 'Gravedigger' in which case he'd need to leap.
